Oral History: Gruenewald, Max; Jan. 10, 1986

Oral History
Dr. Gruenewald was the rabbi at B'nai Israel from 1944 until 1970. Lots of detail on Jewish life in Millburn from that era, and discussion of earlier period (also see oral history "Early Jewish History"). While a lot of this interview covers Dr. Gruenewald's life in Germany and personal experiences outside of Millburn, the information on Jewish life in Millburn is very interesting. Some discussion of the first Jews in Short Hills. 18pp. Interviewers were Owen Lampe and Jenks Schachter.
