Oral History: Gilli, Johanna Marcantonio; May 23, 1983

Oral History
Mrs. Gilli was born in Millburn in 1891, and interview, by Julie Bohn, has interesting info on early Italian-American life in town, and schooling. Attended the original Washington school. She says her oldest sister was "the first Italian baby born in Millburn. Few houses and no other Italians, she said. She said "they used to call us Guineas" and her mother feared for the chilrden and "never let us out very far." NOTE: Folder contains multiple copies of interview.
