Nadin: Letter from Mrs. J.H. Cox, 1893

Two page letter and postally used envelope from Mrs. J.H. Cox, Tabor, NJ to Mrs. Mary Nadin, Short Hills from Tabor, NJ. dated July 26, 1893. The letter reads as follows:
"My Dear Mrs. Nadin;
Mr. Bell has just handed me the enclosed check. Mr.Cox suggests that in these days of breaking banks, it would be best for you to get it cashed at once and not hold it.
Mr. Bell gave me five dollars cash when he first took the cottage and from that I deducted my com at 5% making $4.25 an leaving a balance of 75 cents due you. I send to you a postal note for 72 cents, retaining 3 cents to pay for the note.
Mr. Bell is delighted with the pace and I am gratified to have secured so good a tenant.
