Oral History: Tichenor, Edward A., September 1977

Oral History
Tichenor's were some of the first settlers in Millburn in the 18th century. Edward's grandfather and father were blacksmiths, and Edward learned the trade from his father. He taught himself decorative ironwork. Tichenor retired at 55 years old with 6 million dollars and bought a farm in Matawan. Businesses he recalled in Millburn were: Mc Cullen Brothers General Store (Corner of Main & Millburn), Mrs. Schultz's Candy Store, Mundy's food store (corner of Main and Millburn), Milburn Hotel (owned by Pollack), In the Bank building at one time was Campbell's Drugs. Campbell's homestead was at the Chanticler and Bonnel's meat store.
