Parsil: Samuel B. Parsil Civil War Letter, November 27, 1862

Letter from Samuel B. Parsil to his father and mother dated November 27, 1862, while serving with the 27th NJ Infantry at Camp Casey near Fairfax Seminary, Virginia. Refers to a box that Steve Meeker sent. "John Sprigg says the war will soon be brought to a close. He has great faith in the Democrats. He and Billy Shatter has (sic) a regular fight every day or two on the war and the leading Politicians...." Mentions Caleb Van Welt and Dave Ketchel (Retchel)? Asks for money for paper, pencils and stamps.
