Photograph of 56 Highland Avenue from the 1978 David Gibson Survey. House was one of the original Hartshorn Estates, Inc. homes (unnumbered), c. 1880. Shingle-style with fish-scale shingles. The house was later purchased by Helen Page Wodell, co-founder of the landscaping firm of Wodell & Cottrell. The house passed to her daughter Lois Poinier, who also became a nationally renowned landscape designer.
