The house was an original Hartshorn Estates, Inc. home, constructed in 1880 and was later purchased by Helen Page Wodell, co-founder of the landscaping firm of Wodell & Cottrell. The house passed to her daughter Lois Poinier, who also became a nationally renowned landscape designer. The two photos are glued to a piece of cardboard, on which is written in ink: "Spring 1967 before apple tree came down; 56 Highland Avenue" Also written ink, but crossed out is: "Sept 1968; Plants had not been moved" and "Early Sept. 1968."
