J.F. Anderson, Florist Envelope, 1903

Archive
Cancelled byellow-tan envelope sent by J.F. Anderson to The Florist Exchange; #2 Duane Str; New York in 1903(?). Stamped on the left edge of the front of the envelope is "J.F. Anderson; ---Successor to---" leading to the preprinted return address, which states "Office of; Anderson & Christensen,; Wholesale Florists,; Short Hills, N.J." The cancellation date cannot be clearly read after the 190--, so the circa 1903 date for the envelope cancellation is based upon the issue date of the stamp. There are no contents in the envelope, which was opened along the top edge. All edges of the envelope are slightly darker yellowed than the body of the rest of the envelope. The flap of the envelope, as seen on the upper right back of the envelope has two minor, ca. 1/8" tears. Purchased on eBay from William L. Fisher; 222 S. Fairview St, Apt. 4; Riverside, NJ 08075.
