Millburn Avenue: Empire Store & Millburn Hotel, 1906

Black and white real-photo postcard looking east on Millburn Avenue. The building in the right side, with the Ballantine's Beer Sign is the Millburn Hotel. The Empire Store was directly across Millburn Avenue & is indicated by a handwritten note and arrow. The store located at what is now 344 Millburn Avenue, was run by the McCollum Brothers (William E., William W. and William H. McCollum) and sold groceries and dry goods.
Postcard has an undivided back and labeled "Millburn Avenue, Millburn N.J." Handwritten in ink, on the front of the card, in the lower left corner and with an arrow, is "Empire Store~ Back of the card is postmarked May 23, 1906 and card is addressed to "Miss Ruth Stout, Princeton, New Jersey, R.F.D. no. 3" Written in pencil on address side of card, top left corner, is "Ballantine Beer" (presumably written by a much-later seller, as tag words).
