The publication was produced on the occasion of the 300th Anniversary of Essex County and features descriptive listings of 124 sites, many of which are illustrated. There is also a historical time line, maps and Tours of Newark. The Millburn section features 5 sites: The Hessian House (155 Millburn Avenue), The Music Hall (162 Hobart Avenue), The Cora Hartshorn Arboretum and Stone House, Stonehaven (303 Hobart Avenue) and The Paper Mill Playhouse. The publication is embossed with Owen Lampe's stamp.
