Ice Skating on the Wellington Campbell Pond, 1898

Photograph of Campbell's pond, which was located on the north side of Millburn Avenue, west of Short Hills Avenue, covering much of what is now the Glenwood area. The pond was created by a dam to furnish water for Campbell's Paper Mill, which stood behind the Campbell homestead (formerly the site of the Chanticler), east of Short Hills Avenue by the Springfield border. Buildings visible (left to right): Hartshorn Water Tower, Nun's House, Priest's House, St. Rose of Lima Roman Catholic Church and Catholic School (formerly Feeley's Hat Factory).
