Rimback Storage Company Truck Accident, 1940s
Photograph
Ca. 1940's press photo of a Rimback Storage Company truck accident, apparently near Scranton PA. The truck in the other photo related to this accident advertises "Long Distance Moving," which may be what it was doing in PA. Smoke appears to be coming from the top, and a man seems to be carrying out of the side of the truck a covered item, so there may have been a fire inside that led to the truck going off the road. The back of the photo is marked: "Montgomery -- Photographers; Commercial - Aerial; Home Portraiture; 216 Coal Exchange Bldg; Scranton 3, PA; Telephone 9476 Reorder No." and handwritten in the Reorder No. line is "D-1210."
The bottom half of the photo has deep rippling and there are splash marks on the back of the photo, so it appears to have been exposed to moisture. There are 2-3 light creases around the upper left corner of the front of the photo.
