William A. Bates, Views in Short Hills, NJ, 1880. Print of series of houses in Short Hills created by architect William A. Bates. Original source of print unknown. Later appeared in Short Hills Club History. Print depicts some of the key buildings in Stewart Hartshorn's Short Hills Park development. Buildings are identified by owners, architects and or numbers. Numbered Hartshorn houses are included. Staircase in top center has been identified as belonging to 40 Knollwood (The anchorage).
