Old Mill Pond, Millburn, 1912

Postally used. Postmarked Millburn, July 20, 1912 and addressed to Mr. Allen Bair, Wetmore, Pennsylvania. Message reads: "This country is a whole lot better than I expected. The houses are all large and nice and it is not so warm out here. First night it was rather cool. I drove a load of ice to the club house today. R.B."
This pond was downstream from the Diamond Mill, which is visible in the rear. It was located where the Middle School athletic fields are today on either side of the river. The walls of this pond were visible from the pathway from Old Short Hills Road to Lackawanna Place.
