Tucked deep in one of many very old boxes of correspondence sent to and from the Millburn Township Committee was this 1920’s exchange between Mrs.John Taylor, of Taylor Park fame, and the township committee. On May 30, 1924 Mrs. Taylor donated the completely furnished Taylor Park to the residents of Millburn, in memory of her husband. As you can see here, the town sent her a small gift in thanks for her generosity, for which she then sent her thanks.
A few years before that, however, Mrs. Taylor had cause to send a three-page letter to the committee, expressing her dismay at her sleepless nights due to the neighbor’s noisy dogs.
We look forward to poking through the many additional boxes of early correspondence with the town.
