Photograph
Photograph of 19 Western Drive from the 1978 David Gibson Historic Sites Survey. 19 Western Drive, known as "The Close" was designed by architect Mackay Hugh Baillie-Scott and built for Henry Binsse. Tudor revival style. Baille-Scott was a leading figure in the Arts & Crafts Movement in England. The Close is the only house he designed in the United States. Exterior finish in timber and stucco with hip roof and clay tile covering. The design was intended to capture the feeling of and "Old English Inn," which achieved through the half-timbered construction and layout with an open central courtyard.
