Ruddiman's Weekly Mercury -- 1780 Scottish newspaper

Object/Artifact
Authentic six-page 1780 Scottish newspaper named Ruddiman's Weekly Mercury. Front middle column, lower half, and left column on page two reprint "From the Pennsylvania Gazette of July 8" an "Extract of a letter from General Washington, dated Whippany, June 25" in which Washington reports on the Battle of Springfield. Second page reprints Major General Greene's report from "Springfield, June 24, 1780." The newspaper is rag paper and has the name "_____? S. Campbell" written in ink along the folded edge of the last page. No tears or holes. Light browning around edges and along crease lines.
