Baltusrol: Geoge Von Elm National Amateur Golf Championship Victory at Baltusrol, 1926

International Newsreel Photograph of George Von Elm beingcarried off on the shoulders of admirers after defeating Bobby Jones in the final matio of the National Amateur Gold Championship at Baltusrol Golf Club in "Short Hills," NJ, September 18, 1926. Photo was owned by King Features Syndicate, but does not appear to have run in the papers. George von Elm's victory was a major event in the golf world and marked the first time the amateur championship had been won by a player from the west coast. Von Elm was 26 years old at the time.
