Notebook: Robert Halsey Surveyor Notebook, c. 1946

Object/Artifact
Notebook used by Robert C. Hasey, Surveyor, Chatham, NJ for sketching properties in Millburn, Maplewood, South Orange and other towns in Essex and Union Counties. Stamp on front page reads: Halsey Brothers Engineers & Surveyors, 155 Maplewood Avenue, Maplewood, NJ 07040 762-1915. Notebook contains 157 pages of hand drawn maps, charts and calculations. Many of the streets are labeled as are some of the property owners. The Halsey Brothers Firm was established by Robert C. Halsey's grandfather in the 1800s and continued to operate until Robert retired in 1971. Robert moved from Maplewood to Chatham in 1941.
