A typical scene of Millburn center around the turn of the century. Note hay wagon in rear, horse and buggy in center and horse-drawn wagon piled high with rags for a local paper mill. Unattended horse, accompanied by dog, appears to be heading to Tichenor's blacksmith shop to be shod dog, the two buildings on the far right are today #338 & 328 1/2 Millburn Avenue. Notice abutments on bridge over the west branch of the Rahway River still in use today."
