Fire Department: Photograph of a Fire-Department Ex-Chief

Photograph
Photograph of an ex-Fire Department Chief. According to the inscription on the back of the photograph, the picture was found behind the panelling in the basement of a home at 201 Parsonage Hill Road, Short Hills. The badge suggests that he was an ex-chief of a fire department in Washington D.C. It is unclear if the trumpet under his left arm was a working trumpet, used to broadcast orders at fire scenes or a presentation trumpet, given upon finishing service.
