The land was the property of Edward S. Hand and then passed to James A. Williamson in October 1872. It then passed to Emma Smith in 1912 and Frank Jewett. In 1921 the house was owned by Samuel Shackleton and stayed in the Shackleton family until 1991. The house was one of six tower homes built in the early 1870s that were among the first homes to be built in Millburn. Originally constructed as an early development, the 6 properties were spread across farmlands. Cataloged By
