25 Stewart Road, c. 1906

Photograph
This two-storied portico draws on more then one historical form for its composition. The tall columns are of the Composite order, which combines the large volutes of the Iconic with the foliated forms of the Corinthian order. The large entablature has multiple moldings, enriched pediment and a pronounced cornice with decorative modillions. The doorway, with its elliptical fan and sight lights, is in the Federal style.
