Flanagan: Millburn Hose Company Alarm, Burt Manufacturing Baseball Team, Millburn Post Office, 1900

Newspaper clipping from the Wednesday, May 9, 1900 edition of the Newark Evening News in the collection of ephemera detached from the Flanagan scrapbook. Among the items mentioned are: Millburn Hose Company recommended the installation of a Gamewell Alarm system, the employees of the Burt Manufacturing Company of Millburn (Billiard Ball Factory) are organizing a baseball team, ground was broken for a one-story post office on Main Street, Millburn Police Officers made a raid on a gang of "growler rushers" on Elm Street and caught 8 men. Growlers were buckets used for holding beer.
