Clippings from local newspapers (Probably the Newark Evening News) that were loose in the Flanagan Scrapbook. Funeral notice for John Joseph Flanagan of Mechanic Street at age 42. Was employed at the Diamond Paper Mill, a member of Court Minnesink, I.O.F. of Millburn and an exempt fireman.
John McQuilkin, a businessman, who owned a blacksmith shop in Millburn, at age 42. Warden of St. Stephens, Member of the Success Council, Jr. O.U.A.M and Millburn Volunteer Fire Department.
Mary Oliver, daughter of Mrs. Minnie Oliver, age 7.
Funeral of Mrs. August Wittkop on May 13, 1904, at St. Rose's Catholic Church. Pallbearers were John Lonergan, Sr., John Mayer, John Ward, Jacob Waechter, George Kessler, and Jacob Keller. Death of Annie Hankins, wife of Henry Hankins, Sr. of Mechanic Street. (May 14, 1904)
Mrs. Francis Wittkop (54 years old) wife of August Wittkop, Frederick De Hart (carpenter), Nathan Bonnell (Bonnell died in early May 1904). Leap year dance by members of St. Rose's Branch, L.C.B.A. of Millburn.
Henry Wittkop purchased trucking and furniture business of Louis Goodrich. Article dated January 24, 1904.
Thomas J. Fennessy, Sr. (April 24, 1909), 67 years old. Clipping from the April 26, 1904 edition of the Newark Evening News. Fennessey was a trustee of St. Rose of Lima and was buried in their cemetery. Born in Ballydunne, County Tipperary, Ireland he lived on Church Street in Millburn since he was a boy and working in the hatting trade nearly his entire life.
His children were: Thomas J. Fennessy, Jr., Miss Nellie Fennessey and Mrs. Philip Einsman.
Frederick De Hart (May 10, 1904) death in train accident. Other notices: Gas mains extended through street in Millburn. Celebration of the 10th anniversary of the Success Council Jr. O.U.A.M. at St. Stephen's parish house. Committee in charge of entertainment was: Charles Reeve, Harry Reeve, George Purdy, Charles Van Fleet, Calvin Tompkins & D.S. Jeakens.
