Ellis: Hannah Ellis Tax Bill, 1910

Township of Millburn Tax Bill issued to Hannah Ellis of Orchard Street, 1910. Stamped paid, November 25, 1910, C.E. Van Fleet, Tax Collector. Charles Van Fleet moved to Millburn in the 1890s and was employed as a clerk by David J. Mundy, who later in the decade, made Van Fleet a partner. He served as tax collector from 1906 to 1927. He was elected to the Township Committee in 1937 and chaired the fire department committee. Charles Van Fleet died on May 19, 1949.
