Oral History: Shackleton, Paul & Mildred, November 22, 1976

Oral History
Describes the history of the Hand and Meeker farms, based on the deeds. Land for his house was purchased from Dr. Jewett, who had abstracts of deeds made up. Describes the Wyoming households, consisting of telephone people (AT&T) such as: George Thomas, Herbert Shrieves, John Mills, the Dunlops, Dr.Jewett. Ameta Stonewall, Emily Person, Rica Tepper (Mrs. Roland French). Mentions Whittingham home and underground railroad stop. Mr. Jewett and the early history of the Red Cross in Wyoming. Jesse & Jeanette Dinnock were close friends and lived in Dr. Jewett's old house. NOTE: Surname is Shackleton, not "Shackelton" as spelled in transcription.
