The event, which had over 100 people in attendance, was organized by Salvatore Chiarvallo (64 Whittingham Terrace), Nicholas Grieco, Albert DiLeo, Michael Passsarelli and Charles DiGiovanni. The outing was a fundraiser toward to the formation of a public library at Casa Colombo, 38 Main Street. Originally the outing was to feature an appearance by Italian heavyweight boxer Primo Carnera.
