Mitchell (Baird): Maria Louise Mitchell (Baird) 's Daughters of the American Revolution Application

Object/Artifact
An application by Maria Louise Mitchell for membership in the Daughters of the American Revolution. It mentions that her husband is Allen Gilmore Mitchell; she is the daughter of Thomas H Baird and Maria Louise Baird (King); granddaughter of Thomas H Baird Senior and Nancy Baird; great-granddaughter of Dr. Absalom Baird and Susanna Baird (Brown); great-great-granddaughter of Captain John Baird and Catherine Baird (McLean). Dr. Absalom Baird fought in the American Revolutionary War for Independence by acting as a surgeon. His services in the war were recognized in an act passed by Congress in 1836. John Baird was an officer in the British American Army during the French-Indian War and was killed in an attack on Fort Duquesne September 21st of 1758.
