Recipe Book, c. 1895-1920s

Archive
Hand-written recipe book featuring recipes copied from newspapers and some newspaper clippings pasted in. Owner made notes about good recipes, the source of the recipes and, in some cases, the dates. Range of dates are from 1895-late 1920s. Book was found in the attic of 298 Main Street, which contained materials from Mary and Mark Oliver. This may have been Mary's recipe book. The book exemplifies women's recipe collecting practices in the late 19th-early 20th centuries and popular foods of the period.
