Bailey: Samuel Bailey Deed, 1801

Deed for land betweenBailey and Esther Parcel.
This indenture made this Eighteenth day of May Eighteen hundred and one by and between Samuel Bailey Serv. of the township of Springfield County of Essex and State of New Jersey of the one part and Esther Parcel of the same place of the other part Witnesseth. That the said Samuel for and in Consideration of the sum of Two hundred and fifty Dollars current money of the United States to me in hand paid by her the said Esther at or before the delivery here of the receipt of which I do hereby acknowledge and am therewith fully satisfied contracted and paid. Have given in granted bargain'd and Sold and by these presents Do give grant bargain sell (alien enfe off ) convey confirm unto the said Esther her heirs and assigns forever all the two following Tracts or lots of Land at Canoebrook place (aff) One Lot beginning in the line of Thomas Parcel Dec.d on the north edges of Canoebrook, thence along (?) line south seventy degrees East, eight chain forty two links, there north sixty degrees twenty five minutes east seven chains twelve links, to the line of the hairs of Martha Edwards Dec.d thence along said line north thirty nine degrees forty minutes west twelve chain to the north bank of Canoebrook again, thence down s. (degrees) Brook to the Place of beginning containing nine acres one quarter and thirty two rods strict meansures. Also an other Lot beginning in the middle of the Ridge road in the line of Thomas Parcel Dec.d thence along that line and s. (degrees) Bailey south fifty three degrees forty five minutes east, twelve chain twenty six links to the line of Brain-and-Dickinson, thence along his line north forty six degrees fifty minutes east three chain thirty one links to the line of Thomas Gildersleeve thence along his line north forty seven degrees twenty nine minutes west, eleven chain twelve links to the road....
