Meeker: Jonathan Denman Meeker Article, "Four Generations Attend Birthday of the Township Clerk of Millburn," 1909

Archive
A 1909(?) newspaper article, from an unidentified newspaper, titled "Four Generations Attend Birthday of the Township Clerk of Millburn." Three of the four family members in the photo are identified as Jonathan Denman Meeker, Milton R. Silance, Margaret Killoren, and an unidentified woman. One of the daughters of Jonathan Denman Meeker and Pamelia C. Roll Meeker was Mary Catherine, who married Milton R. Silance, the Millburn Township clerk. Regrettably, in 1933 Milton Silance was indicted for embezzlement and committed suicide a few months later. The article was apparently found in the archives of the Washington Township Historical Society. It is yellowed and fragile. A handwritten penciled note on the left side of the article says "1909," presumably the date of the article, and which the woman's clothing and the little girl's clothing confirms.
