Hartshorn: Stewart Hartshorn Memoir by Ferris T. Watts, 1942

Archive
Four-sheet typed memoir of Stewart Hartshorn, written in 1942 by Ferris T. Watts "for Shelton Pitney, for testimony in the Tax Appeal Case, July 1942." The brief memoir is a description of Mr. Hartshorn's vitality in and enthusiasm for his work in laying out the roads, etc. in the newly-developing Short Hills. The document references Mr. Hartshorn's 1937 death, so this may be related to taxes assessed on his estate. The document does not have any donation date, so it was assigned an end-of-the-year date for 2009, when the donor gave other items to the historical society.
