The envelope is addressed to Mr. Robert McKim; Baltusrol Way; Short Hills; New Jersey and was sent special delivery. The back of the envelope is printed with the logo of the Hotel Pennsylvania. Robert V. McKim doesn't seem to have been in Short Hills in the 1940s, although his brother William was living on Overlook Terrace then. Robert V(anderburgh) McKim was born in Short Hills in 1900 and died in New York City in 1960. He was the father of fashion designer Lilly Pulitzer. The envelope shows considerable overall soiling, bumped corners, yellowing, and edgewear.
