To the left of the certificate is a half-sheet that notes that the certificate was surrendered in 04-13-49. Attached to that half-sheet is a torn piece of paper on which is typed: "RECEIVED from the Stewart...Company, one share Stewart...Company stock, Certificate...the name of Stewart Hartshorn." Beneath that is stamped "MAR 18 1939; c/o FIDELITY UNION TRUST CO; 755 BROAD STREET, NEWARK." A vertical line of glue indicated where the half-sheet is attached to the certificate.
