Scope and ContentCa. 1902 (based upon 1903 date on P&M envelope sent to same San Diego address) oversized envelope sent by Pitcher & Manda / United State Nurseries to Orcutt Seed & Plant Co. in California. Originally sent to "Broadway Market; Los Angeles; Cal" but the Los Angeles was crossed out and "'Orcutt / San Diego Cal" was written above. The upper left corner of the envelope is printed with the local address: "Short Hills, N.J.; U.S.A." and upper right corner has: "Hextable, Swanley, Kent, England." Between the two is: "From; Pitcher & Manda; United States Nurseries." The envelope is empty, has overall soiling on front and back, has a vertical fold line in the center, yellowing (especially at edges), edgewear, overall creasing, and two ca. 3/8" dark smudges on the back upper left and one lighter one on the upper right.
