Millburn Post Office Dedication Commemorative Envelope, November 13, 1939

Object/Artifact
Commemorative envelope (first day cover?) marking the dedication of the Millburn Post Office. Cancellation date is Nov. 13, 1939. Envelope was mailed from Millburn to Edward F. Roth, 1136 Curtner Ave, San Jose, CA. The left side of the envelope is marked "Dedication; U.S. Post Office; Millburn N.J." beneath which is a sketch of the Millburn PO. Beneath the sketch is "C. Stephen Anderson" and the signature of William D. Hayes (Postmaster). The back of the envelope has what appears to be light ink smudges (similar to cancellation marks) on back and pencilled notation (from seller?): "11-17-39" (sic). Yellowing around edges of envelope and light overall yellowing.
