Mount Zion AME Church, 54 Church Street, 2022.

Photograph
Digital Photograph taken in August 2022 by Julian Chua. The Mount Zion African Methodist Church was formed in 1881 by a minister and two communicants. As it grew, members met in a local blacksmith shop until the church was completed in 1902. The building is in the American Vernacular Style, influenced by American Gothic. The church has a shingled exterior, a pair of lancet windows in the facade and four narrow windows with triangular tops on each side.
