Baiter: Mrs. Charles Baiter of Short Hills & Her Dog
Photograph
B/W glossy press photo from June 6, 1928 of Mrs. Charles Baiter (Madeline E. Baiter) of Short Hills and her "winning dog, Inkee of Romont, a shepherd." There are three silvered diagonal stripes across the upper right corner, which are perfectly straight and seem to have been caused by something laying on the photo there. There seems to be some adhesive residue along the bottom edge of the front of the photo, on the right half of the photo. It seems to have been left by the blue caption-paper on the back that may have been folded over to the front bottom edge. There is a 1" long finger-like dull spot in the middle of the left edge of the front and three pinhead-sized indentations nearby. Corners are bumped and edges of the photo are worn. On the back of the photo is a caption typed on a strip of blue paper: "SECOND ANNUAL DOG SHOW MORRIS AND ESSEX KENNEL CLUB -- Pictured above is Mrs. Charles Baiter of Short Hills, N.J. with her winning dog, Inkee of Romont, a shepherd. Taken at the second annual dog show of the Morris and Essex Kennel Club at the Giralda Farms, Madison, N.J.; YOUR CREDIT LINE must read (ACME)" In pencil on the back is "A10279" and, typed, "O.K. for Cleveland." Stamped on the back is This photo is supplied by; ACME NEWSPICTURES; 461 Eighth Ave; New York City; Not to be used for syndication; or advertising purposes without; written permission." Also stamped on the back is: "Refered(sic) -- E. Dept; JUN 6 28 --;N.E.A."
