Chatham Road Businesses, Short Hills, c. 1930s

Photograph
Ca. 1930's, sepia, glossy photograph of the businesses on Chatham Road in Short Hills (38-44 Chatham Road). The Tudor-Style buildings were constructed in 1925. On the far right was Mr. Wittkop's business, which states "Real Estate" and "Insurance" on the window. It also has a gasoline pump in front of the building. Mr. Wittkop apparently owned the buildings. The business to the left of Mr. Wittkop's, on the right end of the Tudor building, says "Margaret (Fischer?); Hairdresser" and the one to the left of that says "Short Hills Market Co. Inc." A piece of the current post office can be seen on the far left of the photo.
