Lonergan: Prairie Rose Blacksmith Shop, c. 1886
Photograph
Original cardboard-mounted b/w photograph of Lonergan's blacksmith shop, then known as Prairie Rose. The actual photo measures 8" x 10" not including the cardboard backing. The cardboard is fragile and crumbling. There is a cellophane-like material surrounding the photo, which may be mounted on it. The age is just a guesstimate, based upon an ad in the Budget newspaper. The photo was purchased from Thomas McCloskey, former owner of the kitchen-design business, Sawhorse Designs, in the former building owned by a descendant known as Mrs. Longeran. Mr. McCloskey acquired the photo(s) from Mrs. Lonergan and all photos were purchased from Tom by the donor.
