DescriptionThis ca. 1950 photo album was compiled by six Millburn cub scouts: Bruce Nathan, Bruce Marks, John Rose, Edward Hirsch, Larry Berger, Joey Tighe, and Albert Meisinger (whose album this was?). The album is titled "Millburn Closeup: A picture story of Millburn" and notes the den mother was Ruth Hirsch. The interior letter from den mother Hirsch thanks "Mr. L. Hirsch of the Camera Shop for 'pointers' on getting good results." The scouts visited and photographed Millburn government offices, health- and travel-related services in Millburn, recreation and play in Millburn, education and religion in Millburn, and businesses in Millburn. The album has burgundy-colored padded leather covers, with "Photograph Album" embossed in gold on the front cover. The interior pages are of (acidic) black mounting paper and pink heavier construction-type paper. The front cover has separated from the strip through which the screw posts are attached, but is held to that strip by the lining material on the inside of the cover. The back cover has not detached from the same strip on the back. There is water damage marks on the pink pages and all pages have worn edges. Photos and their descriptive labels are mounted with photo corners.
