Brison: Portrait of Benjamin Lane Benson, Undated

Drawing
Sketch (Pencil with wash) probably made from a photograph of Benjamin Lane Benson (June 7, 1860-December 28, 1876). Benjamin Lane Benson was the only son of Colonel Benjamin Whitney Benson and Mary Kanouse Brison, and brother of Emile Benson Welsh. Inscription on back of drawing states that he died of typhoid at 16 years. Note: Family bible states he died of typhoid fever on December 28, 1873, age 13 years, 6 months, 21 days.
