Scope and ContentFrench Provincial style house designed by Short Hills architect Oscar Bryant Smith was built by Joseph P. Day as part of the Old Short Hills Estates Development in 1936. It was initially purchased by William G. Lupton, who previously lived on Whitney Road. Lupton had moved to Short Hills in 1930 and was head of an insurance firm.
