83 Linden Street

Photograph
Photograph of 83 Linden Street in the Wyoming section of Millburn from the David Gibson 1978 Historic Sites Survey. The house was built presumably by architect Joy Wheeler Dow for his sister, Ada Louise Dow, who occupied the house along with her companion, Mary Louise Swift until her death in 1952. Ada Louise Dow is listed as the owner from 1907-1953. The house was then owned by John F. McQuillan Sr. and Jr. until 1993, when there was a proposal to demolish the house. The Millburn Township Historic Preservation Commission intervened and a buyer was found, who agreed to renovate and preserve the house. The house was demolished in 2015 and a new home was constructed in a historically appropriate style.
