Blood: Short Hills Farm Receipts, 1894-5

10 receipts for payment of bills from A.H. Blood to F.C. Farley of the Short Hills Farm for milk from December 31, 1894-October 1, 1895. Short Hills Farm, Dr., Breeders of Registered Jersey Cattle of Fashionable Strains. The Pure St. Lambert Bull. Rambler of St. Lambert, 2D, 22925, A.J.C.C. Heads the Herd. Checks to be paid to F.C. Farley, Proprietor. Frederick C. Farley moved to Millburn from New York around 1856, having made his fortune in the tea import business. In the mid-1870s he retired from the import business and operated the dairy farm, known as the Short Hills Farm. At the time of his death in 1911, it was claimed that he woned much of the land between Short HIlls Park and Wyoming.
