238 Old Short Hills Road, 1957

Photograph from the Item, October 3, 1957 of 238 Old Short Hills Road. A full history of ownership of the house was compiled by Tone Torre in 2000, complete with a real estate brochure. According to his research, the land was purchased in 1905 and the house was designed in 1908 by William Whetten Renwick and was subsequently purchased by Mr. and Mrs. Louis Bayard in 1912. The house then was purchased by Walter Greacon in 1919, Marion Lutweiler in 1928. In 1942 it was in the hands of the Fidelity Union Trust Company.
