General Andrew Jackson oil painting, c. 1825

Painting
Gold-framed ca. 1825 unsigned oil painting with brass plate marked "General Andrew Jackson." From the donor's father's estate. Donor noted: "The Andrew Jackson is over 100 years old and the canvas is showing some signs of wear and tear. As I mentioned, while they are very handsome pieces, they are not of real museum quality at this stage." Painting may be a version of the portrait of General Andrew Jackson by Samuel Lovett Waldo (1819).
