Goucher: Envelopes and postcards Addressed to Mrs. Frederick S. Goucher and Elizabeth L. Goucher, c. 1938

Postally used envelopes addressed to Mrs. F.S. (Frederick Shard) Goucher and Elizabeth L. Goucher, Short Hills. Envelope addressed to Mrs. F.S. Goucher is postmarked Short Hills, March 7, 1938. The return address on the verso of the envelope is from the Millburn Public Library Association. Elizabeth L. Goucher was the daughter of Louise Winthrop Roberts Goucher (December 8, 1899-May 27, 1979) and Frederick Shard Goucher (September 30, 1898-August 21, 1973). Elizabeth was born in London in 1923 and the family moved to 105 Hemlock in 1926. F.S. Goucher was a research physicist at Bell Labs. Postcards addressed to Mrs. F.S. Goucher (July 10, 1939) & Betty Goucher (February 4, 1941) from Vancouver and Fort Lauderdale.
