DescriptionEarly 19th century American portrait of a young girl seated in a red upholstered chair. The girl wears a coral-bead necklace and a white, lacy dress, with a black ribbon tied at her waist and black ribbon cascades at her shoulders. Her right arm is holding a black hat and under her left arm is a light-colored cat(?). The painting appears to be lightly soiled. Donor stated this was from her father's estate. The painting is unsigned and dated to c. 1825.
